Student Representative Council - SRC
At the end of every year, Year Five students who are interested in taking on a leadership opportunity are invited to apply for positions on the Student Representative Council. The council is made up of a President, Secretary and Treasurer. Students proceed through an interview and selection process with the current SRC and teacher, who acts as an advocate for the SRC.
The SRC meets at the beginning of each year to set up an action plan for the year. The SRC has its own constitution with meetings twice a term with meeting minutes recorded and reviewed.
The SRC acts as a voice representing the interests of our students at Garfield Primary School, organising school events and fundraising for charity and items the SRC have chosen to prioritise from the action plan set at the beginning of the year.
SRC members organise and coordinate events at school, making decisions in the best interests of our student body. It is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their leadership skills.
