Milo the Monkey's birthday!
Today was a very special day for us at Garfield Primary School!
Today marked a very special occasion at Garfield Primary School. It was the birthday of a very special friend - Milo the Monkey! For those of you who are not aware, Milo is a friendly, playful monkey from our friends at Little Learners Love Literacy - our evidence-based, systematic synthetic phonics program.
Milo goes on an adventure, meeting lots of friends along the way, inviting them all to his birthday party. His friends help introduce children to the first set of sounds and letters in the program. Each letter-sound is linked to a different animal or character.
Our incredibly clever students have now met Milo and all 25 of his friends, which means that they know all the letters of the alphabet! What a great reason to celebrate, and throw Milo a birthday party. So we invited all his friends along today to join in the fun and help us celebrate!
